2012
The Church’s Christmas season continues into the new year before we move once again into ‘ordinary time’.
Join the Teresian Carmelite family as we prepare to celebrate the fifth centenary of St Teresa’s birth. This year (October 2011 - October 2012) we are especially reading, studying & enjoying her book The Foundations. This is not just a matter of history but of how we live our faith now.
‘The Foundations is a living answer to her understanding of the signs of the times. It is a new evangelisation
Recently Pope Benedict described her as a ‘Saint who is one of the peaks of Christian spirituality of all time’ and ‘a true teacher of Christian life for the faithful of every time.’ Talking of St Teresa’s teaching on friendship the Pope says This is the friendship we all need that we must seek anew, day after day. May the example of this Saint, profoundly contemplative and effectively active, spur us too every day to dedicate the right time to prayer, to this openness to God, to this journey, in order to seek God, to see him, to discover his friendship and so to find true life’ For the full text click here.
Podcasts of St Teresa’s words are available from our sisters at Notting Hill click here.

Members of religious congregations work at the forefront of the most difficult tasks facing the human family. Human trafficking is a pressing evil of our time. On June 1st 2011 a coordinating group Talitha Kum was set up to help the vast work undertaken by the different religious congregations in this vital area.
